Abstract

"Tajreed" (antonomasia) is an integral part of rhetorical studies, which creates beauty in speech. "Tajreed" means, "to derive quality of a thing or person which that thing or person already possesses with complete perfection, and consider that quality as another thing or person". Its purpose is to bring exaggeration in that thing or person. "Tajreed" has been frequently occurred in the Holy Qura'an.

There is difference between "Tajreed" and "Eltifat", because the former is based on variation and quantification, even if it is only a claim, and the latter is based on unity and constancy. The rhetoricians have discussed them as individual themes. In this research paper, researcher has given seven kinds of "Tajreed" in the Arabic literature, and has given twenty-one examples of "Tajreed" from the verses of Holy Qura'an.
