A Comparative Analysis of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Justice Syed Amir Ali as Sirah writers

Abstract

The subcontinent has been bestowed with various such personalities who have rendered remarkable services to the country, the nation and the religion. One of them is Syed Ahmad Khan, whose ideological thoughts and practical movements have played an unparalleled role in formation of the coming generations. So far, his thoughts and character have been promoted. The other person is Syed Amir Ali, who has offered invaluable works and services to the Muslim Ummah. His works are still used today. In this article, a comparative sketch of the services rendered by them regarding the Sirah of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) will be made. In this regard, a brief introduction of these two personalities, services for the life history of the holy prophet, methodologies and styles of their description, characteristics of their writings, similarities and differences will be compared.
