Abstract

In the current situation, modern media has affected every sector of the society, its impact on the field of education and training is very deep and two-sided and the issue of children is very sensitive. The use of social media by children in Pakistan is increasing day by day and parents’ negligence in this regard is irreparable.

Parents cannot keep an eye on their children's social media activities due to their busy schedules. Keeping this in mind, various digital companies have developed parental monitoring apps, which is a great convenience for parents.

A comparative study is conducted in the light of Islamic teachings which includes the feature of selecting appropriate content for children, controlling the child's social media time and setting aside time for other off lion activities.

In the light of this research, it is recommended that parents use these apps to protect their children from the negative effects of social media. Furthermore, the independently use of social media by children should be discouraged at the societal level. Powerful institutions (Media, Education etc.) should play their rule regarding discouraging the usage of social media by children without monitoring of their parents. The government needs to limit the independent usage of social media by children through parental training and legislation.
