A comparative Study of Bani Israel and the Present day Muslims character in the light of Surah Al-Baqarah

Abstract

This article is an attempt to a comparative study of Israelites character and the Muslims of the present times. Israelites were the best Ummah as we are today and were blessed with countless blessings. As the Israelites could not perform their assigned role, they were dismissed and the same honors along with responsibilities were bestowed on the Muslims. At the same time, the Muslims were informed in detail about the short comings of the Israelites so that they could protect themselves from the same moral and social deterioration.  The article highlights the moral and social shortcomings of Israelites in the light of Surah Al-Baqara and the Bible. An attempt has been made to suggest a tentative solution of the problems faced by the Muslims in today’s world in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
