Abstract

Secularism is the most familiar term used everywhere now a days. Although
many philosophers contributed a lot to promote secular thought among the
peoples but George Jacob Holyoake is the first one to provide principles and
rules for it and he is the only who promoted the word "secular" as an "ism".
That’s why he may be called "Father of Secularism". This article is basically
an analysis of principles of secularism written by him in his book "The
Principles of Secularism" and tells that how modern secular thought differs
from the principles given by Holyoake. It also alight the biography of
Holyoake, his thought about religion, hypocritical approach and intentions of
modern secular people regarding Islam and Muslims. Its findings tell that
secularism, liberalism, humanism is promoting nothing but the atheism.
