Abstract

Quran is a miraculous text and word of Almighty Allah which He has revealed for the guidance and spiritual guidance of humanity. This chapter of the holy Quran although very brief and short, contains all the essential beliefs of Islam and can righty be called the summary of the whole Quran. This chapter is the reason and the supplication in response of which the whole Quran is revealed. In the very beginning of the chapter Allah, the Lord of the universe is being introduced and then the kind of relation between Him and the humanity is established. Once this is done then the needs and the requirements of the humanity are explained in belief the detailed of which are followed in the entire holy Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon him. Keeping in view this very important position of the chapter, Allah has expressed His blessings upon the Holy Prophet PBUH when He says that:

وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ

We have given you seven of the pairs, and the Grand Quran.

The current paper aims at the Stylistic Analysis of the Sura so that it is better understood by the English speakers as it covers so many literary aesthetics which cannot be transferred and communicated in simple translation. An attempt has been made to fill this gap by explaining and analyzing the literariness and lofty language of the Sura. Although it is almost impossible to understand and enjoy the Holy Quran in general and this Sura in particular without having proper or at least sufficient knowledge of Arabic language but somehow it is tried to communicate the beauty and the meaning of this Sura to the English speakers and readers with the help of linguistic and stylistic analysis by looking at the literary devices in the Sura.
