Abstract

There is no doubting the elevated rank of seeking knowledge according to most if not all nations throughout history. Islam has clearly in light of the texts of the Qur'an and Hadith placed particular emphasis in not only learning but furthermore teaching to ensure the expansion of Islam and the preservation of the righteous Deen. Alongside innumerable statements, teaching has been demonstrated practically by Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) at every stage of his life. Due to being arguably the most well and accurately documented personality in history, countless examples of the different styles of the teaching of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) are found in all sorts of scenarios one can face throughout life. From happiness to sadness, victory to defeat, wealth to poverty; plentiful enriching exemplars are before us which serve as the best of guides for all people considered teachers or considering teaching in any capacity.

Due to an arguably heightened interest and emphasis in the field of pedagogy today, it is extremely appropriate or perhaps necessary to delve into codifying and presenting the various methods of teaching found from Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam). This research paper aims to present various aspects and methods of teaching from Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) in light of Hadith Nakhla. Furthermore, it also aims to highlight the literature excellence and eloquence found in this hadith, mentioning various of rhetorical devices utilised such as Tashbeeh and others.
